PRINCIPLES & ELEMENTS OF DESIGN - 50 Points | |
Line & Rhythm | The vital visual path that directs eye movement through a composition and visual movement through a composition, usually achieved through repetition or gradation |
Physical Balance | A state of actual equilibrium |
Focal Areas/Areas of Dominance | The areas of greatest visual impact or weight; the center of interest to which the eye is most naturally drawn |
Scale/Proportion | The comparative relationship in size, quantity and degree of emphasis among components within the composition and the relationship of the size of a composition to the surrounding area or environment |
Textural Interest | The surface quality of a material, as perceived by sight or touch |
Composition/Harmony/Unity | Compatibility, a pleasing or congruent arrangement of parts and oneness of purpose, thought, style and spirit |
Form | The overall, three-dimensional, geometric shape or configuration of a floral composition |
Color | Proportion, expression and placement of color |
Depth | The placement of materials at different levels within and around the composition |
Visual Balance | A state of optical equilibrium, giving the feeling that the product placement in the composition is stable |
