FTD Encourages All Members to Participate in
12th Annual FTD® Good Neighbor Day®

DOWNERS GROVE, IL. (June 27, 2006) - With the help of its members, FTD® is planning for a successful community outreach event for the 12th Annual FTD® Good Neighbor Day® on Wednesday, September 6, 2006. The philosophy of FTD Good Neighbor Day is for florists to give away bouquets of flowers to people in their community encouraging each recipient to keep one and hand the others away to make new friends and share kindness to strangers.

"FTD Good Neighbor Day is a great way for florists to get involved with the community and have fun while doing it," said Michael Soenen, FTD CEO and President. "Each year hundreds of photographs, letters and newspaper clippings from florist's local events pour into FTD Headquarters sharing their success stories."

FTD Florists across the U.S. and Canada are encouraged to start planning their local events, gather sponsors, and make philanthropic relationships to help spread friendship and kindness to their neighbors.

As a convenience for FTD Members participating in Good Neighbor Day, a FREE promotional kit is available online at FTDi.COM. The promotional kit is complete with planning instructions, marketing materials and templates for outreach, advertising and public relations efforts. The templates are easy to use and available in Microsoft® Word so that members can download, personalize and print the promotional materials. FTD Fresh Flowers is also offering special pricing on bouquets for FTD Members participating in Good Neighbor Day.

In 2005, tens of thousands of flower stems were given away in the name of goodwill and kindness to neighbors across the U.S. and Canada by FTD Florists on Good Neighbor Day. In Ajax, Ontario the mayor handed out 160 dozen flower bouquets at Green Thumb Florist, and in Wichita, Kansas several customers even called Butterflies 'n' Bullfrogs to let them know they passed out their flowers to their neighbors.

FTD Good Neighbor Day was started in 1994 by FTD Member Brook Jacobs, owner of Greenbrook Flowers in Jackson, MS. Jacobs invited all fellow florists to share in the idea 11 years ago through FTD.

To participate, FTD Members can simply go to FTDi.COM to register the shop's participation in FTD Good Neighbor Day as well as request a public listing as a participating florist on FTD.COM.
