FTD Announces 13th Annual FTD® Good Neighbor Day®

DOWNERS GROVE, IL. (June 21, 2007) -  FTD is excited to announce the 13th Annual
FTD® Good Neighbor Day® will take place on Wednesday, September 5, 2007. The premise of FTD Good Neighbor Day is simple: florists give every customer a free bouquet of a dozen flowers and ask them to keep one for themselves and give the 11 others away to 11 different individuals. The premise of this one-day event is to spread goodwill throughout the community, as well as draw increased foot traffic into FTD Member flower shops and provide shop’s with a great local media opportunity.

FTD Florists across the U.S. and Canada are encouraged to start planning their local events by gathering sponsors, making philanthropic relationships and helping to spread friendship and kindness to their neighbors.

FTD Members who are interested in participating in Good Neighbor Day can receive their free FTD Good Neighbor Day marketing kit online at FTDi.COM. The marketing kit provides members with program instructions, marketing materials and templates for outreach, advertising and public relations efforts. Templates are easy to use and available in Microsoft Word so that members can download, personalize, print and start their outreach. To register your participation in FTD Good Neighbor Day or to receive a public listing as a participating florist on FTD.COM, visit www.FTDi.COM

FTD Good Neighbor Day was started in 1994 by FTD Member Brook Jacobs, owner of Greenbrook Flowers in Jackson, MS. The idea behind the holiday is for florists to give away a bouquet of flowers to people in their community encouraging each recipient to keep one for them and hand the others away to make new friends and share kindness to strangers. The goal of the holiday outreach is simply that, to spread goodwill to neighbors and make new friends through the exchange of flowers.
