FTD Announces Prestigious 2005 FTD Member Awards

DOWNERS GROVE, IL. (March 11, 2005) - FTD is excited to announce that nominations are being accepted for the FTD Member Awards, FTD's most prestigious honors in the floral industry. FTD Members are invited to submit nominations for fellow florists who are making a difference in their community and the floral industry through their dedication to quality and commitment to excellence. The six FTD Member Awards will be presented this July at the 2005 FTD Floral Extravaganza at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Dallas, TX.

"So many of our customers are committed to progressive thinking and have dedicated their careers to the growth of the industry. This is a time for us to gather together and celebrate their accomplishments," says Michael Soenen, president and chief executive officer, FTD Group, Inc.

Following are the FTD Member Awards:

• FTD John A. Valentine Award
  In the name of the founder of FTD, John A. Valentine, this award is presented annually to a deserving individual, who demonstrates outstanding achievement in the floral industry and involvement in civic and charitable activities in their local community.
  
• FTD Lifetime Achievement Award
  This FTD honorary award will recognize an FTD Member who has continued the path of growth and service for 25 years or more. This member is an example for fellow florists in the industry.
  
• FTD Progressive Florist Award
  This FTD Member is an example for fellow members for consistently reaching beyond standards set in the industry. This member is not only expanding growth for themselves, but for others.
  
• FTD Industry Service Award
  This member conducts regular efforts in and out of their shop to serve the floral industry. The member continues to apply time and efforts to the floral industry in order to educate their fellow florists and increase growth on a shop and industry level.
  
• FTD Marketing Award
  This award recognizes an FTD Member who displays success in marketing efforts, to be used as an example to all FTD Members. Supporting examples are encouraged.
  
• FTD New Member of the Year Award
  This award recognizes a new FTD Member for their dedicated partnership with FTD in developing their business and its growth through FTD products, services and support.

The recipients of each award will be selected by the FTD Member Award committee made up of FTD Members and FTD executives. All complete nominations will be considered. The deadline for acceptable nominations is May 15, 2005. Nominators are encouraged to be as thorough as possible when filling out nominee information, and to include supporting materials (five page maximum) and industry references in support of nomination. FTD Member Award nominees will be contacted by mail several weeks in advance of the 2005 FTD Floral Extravaganza in Dallas, TX. Four of the awards will be granted at the FTD Member Awards and Anniversary Luncheon, with special guest speaker Michael Abrashoff, taking place on Saturday, July 23, 2005, at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Dallas, TX. The FTD Lifetime Achievement and the FTD John A. Valentine Awards will be presented at the Reach for the Stars Gala Event on Saturday, July 23, 2005.
